If you are really hungry, you should drop by to the restaurant Waldgeist in Hofheim, in Germany. Here you can order the biggest steak or biggest sausage in the whole world. And, if you are still hungry, you can order the biggest hamburger at Denny’s in Ohio.

The top most photos are of a breaded veel, called veel schnitzel, the huge tube of meat is a bratwurst, and the hamburger is from a bar in America, the menu in the background is clearly english.

    jhmf:
English is a European language. It originates from Great Britain (England should give you a hint).
None the less I think you are right. The burger probably is American.

THE GUYS AT THE RESTAURANT SHOULD COOK AND SUPPLY FOOD TO FOR EXAMPLE THE CHILDREN OF AFRICA. THIS IS JUST NOT RIGHT IMO. MANY PEOPLE IN THE WORLD ARE STARVING AND DIED OF STARVING. WE MUST DO SOMETHING BY NOT ORDERING AND EATING THIS KIND OF MEAL. ITS JUST WAY TOO EXAGGERATED.

Damn… Gotta be pretty expensive too… This was not a quarter pounder… That was a five stoner :D

Have to disagree about the burger being American, there’s an ad in the background of the fourth from the bottom for Labatt. Labatt’s brewed in Canada and while it’s possible that it’s exported to the States, it seems unlikely - it’s a cheap-ass lager that wouldn’t be worth paying import prices on.

@pedro it is not a problem of lack of food in some places. Do you really think that this restaurant could send viener schnitzel to Africa, or maybe a hamburger? And that because they make huge meals, people in Congo or Somalia are starving?!
The problems are created by unstable, uncaring governments, military conflicts, and corruption. In most places of Africa harvests can be done at least two times a year. Unfortunately noone is interested, especially people living there to start farms, manufacture something… What for? UN will bring them food.

That beer looks nasty in the 3rd pic, looks like it’s got all sorts of floaties in it; and I don’t have to tell you what that ugly bitch in the 8th pic is thinkin… (hey, she IS really ugly…you know she never gets any unless it’s from herself)

I have a bit of a quarrel with the statement that English comes from England. The vocabulary is strict thievery and invention; the grammatical structure is Germanic (Anglo-Saxon). Some German dialects have more in common, overall, with English than do Old or Middle English.

Very minor quibble, and, that being said, I would comment that the pics look like an average American fast-food outing–meaning, disgusting. I like meat and potatoes as much as the next guy, but really . . . .

There is a Pittsburgh Steelers emblem behind the chick with the hamburger, and you notice, the different shots of food have different tables… most restaraunts don’t differ that greatly from area to area….

Also, why would they serve different kinds of fries depending on whether you ordered the steak thing or the bratwurst?

and this whole defense comes from euroPEONS who aren’t fat at all :/. of course they wouldn’t have huge burgers or steaks. A pittsburgh steelers emblem? is that it? because no one in america is a fan of euro league futball. come the fuck on get a life

There is clearly a Yuengling tap in that picture… it is only made in Pennsylvania (originally) and Tampa… and is only distributed in 11 states (from Florida to NY). Obviously the picture is not taken in Canada or Europe…

  22. Steve Says:

Yes, you can get Labatts in America. We share a long border with Canada, and many people of Canadian descent live in the northernmost states. And I think I’ve heard of that giant burger. Disgusting.
Hockey fans love Labatts. And yes, it’s awful.

  23. Dumb Says:

It’s not stake, it’s steak. The burger is from an American restaurant not a german one. Europeans don’t wear baseball caps at the dinner table, and don’t drink labatt blue.

The bratwurst is also probably from a different restaurant to the schnitzel (schnitzel is amazing by the way). Different fries.

the first picture is A WIENER Schnitzel. it can be made from pork turkey or veal. the one in this page and the most popular one, is from pork (schwein). it looks very big, in reality is also very thin so u can eat it up without problems. it looks like that in most places in germany or austria, which is where the schnitzel is from..wiener=Viennese.

Now the sausage in the red curry sauce looks so yummy!
The hamburger looks tasty but messy. It looks so much better then the mystery meat you get in my country at some restaurants.

    Great post!

It’s just a freekin Schnitzel! Schnitzel, not Wienner Schnitzel…. In fact, I think they all were Rahmschnitzels, And Cheep freekin Rahmschnitzels too. The nutmeg accents in a good cream Rahm sauce are going to insure that you want WAY more sauce than they are showing in the pictures. And, to those that this applys… Stop trying to sound cool or like you have lived there by saying Wienner Schnitzel. Like you know the difference anyway! There are 7 different Schnitzels on that menu. I never heard of a Madagaskar or Bombay Schnitzel, but the other five are all traditional German Schnitzels. They are truly into meat and starch meals. And to everyone else… The Deutsche, Are European, most speaking English better (more properly) than the freekin English, let alone Americans! Regardless of the origin of the languish, on average are as over weight as Americans but are far more healthy. The Whole point was supposed to be about the size of the portion. A good Schnitzel can easily cover the plate, a big freekin plate too. They just simply have two Schnitzels on the plates in the pictures. Almost every country, nationality, region, city, village, berg, family, has it tradition in making a pig of yourself. And that’s a good freekin thing. Unfortunately, We, Americans have taken tradition and made it into a money making oddity. Capitalism, mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm “unfortunately, the best of the “isms” and yet it still creates stupidity, like this, for nothing more than the “All Mighty Dollor”!!!! OH Wait! I can’t call it that anymore can I? We have even turned it into a Freeken sporting event. I enjoy making a pig of myself now and then, but any and ALL of the portions in the pictures is nothing more than someone knowing they profit by making a culinary oddity. And by the way, what the hell difference does it make where the stupidity is taking place unless your trying to find it to eat there? You can’t hold it against me that I live in a world that I have plenty. It IS, Truly, fucking wrong that people are starving in the world today, Anywhere. I try to help… and my government spends hundreds of billions (do we really freekin know how much?) to pay for mismanaged Capitalism… you know, the best of the “isms”. But I will not feel guilty for living a blessed life. I do try to help. Now that I have purged, I am going to go overeat a bunch of grapes…. Wait! does overeating fruit count?!? shit what about vegetables? Man a schnitzel sounds good, what kind should I have?

The burger is from denny’s pub in Pennsylvania. They have a two pound burger challenge. They even take advance orders for burgers up to 50 pounds of beef :)

Informedperson is correct. I have been to Denny’s Beer Barrel Pub in Clearfield, PA, about 45 minutes from State College. They have numerous challenge burgers, and the smallest, the 2 pounder, is almost impossible for a mere mortal like myself to eat. My friends and I went one afternoon during finals week in the spring last year, and I witnessed the consumption of one.

I have been on stumble a lot in the past few days, and it seems like the comments in half the blogs I come upon turn very quickly towards America-bashing. It’s a constant Americans are fat, Americans are stupid, Americans are greedy, Americans can’t locate Great Britain on a map, usually coming from Europeans.

Why don’t you guys get over us? You must have a crush on Americans if you like to insult us THIS much (just like kindergartners do). Seriously, focus on yourselves a bit. I’m certain not everyone in Europe is a paragon of health, virtue, and intellect.

And why is all the scorn thrown on the burger in this blog? Aren’t the giant steak and schnitzel just as unhealthy?
